Railway Mission chaplain Dylis George features in an inspiring video produced by train operating company c2c to celebrate Inter Faith Week.

Recognising the important role the Christian faith-based charity plays in the lives of the railway family, Dylis was invited to take part in the video by c2c Diversity & Inclusion Manager Paul McGunnigle-White.
“c2c is a multi-faith organisation and for many of our staff faith is a fundamental part of their being,” explains Paul.

“Inter Faith Week is important for us as it educates on different faiths and increases understanding between people of religious and non-religious beliefs.

“We wanted Railway Mission on board for this project as the charity’s chaplains offer ‘support on life’s journey’ to rail workers everywhere. It was an opportunity to understand their role, explore how they help the rail community and to get their perspective on why faith is a big part of our colleagues’ lives.
“Dylis brought a great energy to this project and I look forward to working with her and Railway Mission again in the future.”

The video shines a light on religion and c2c staff’s personal relationships with faith and their beliefs.
Dylis says of her involvement in the project: “For me, manifesting true love is embracing people from all faiths and none.

“My calling is to serve my generation and being invited to participate in the c2c Inter Faith Week video project was a wonderful opportunity to fulfil that service.”

c2c has produced two versions of the video, the longer version delves deeper into personal journeys of faith, with Dylis the first interviewee to feature.

Liam Johnston, Railway Mission Executive Director, says: “We are delighted that c2c recognises the important role our chaplaincy team plays in supporting those who work on the railway and to have the opportunity to be involved in their inspiring video.”

c2c has kindly pledged a donation to Railway Mission to thank the charity, and Dylis, for participating in the video project.

Railway Mission is a national charity which provides a regionally-based chaplaincy service aiming to be an impartial ‘friend’ to those who work on the railway. Regardless of faith, gender, sexual orientation or position in the industry, chaplains offer face-to-face year-round support, especially during an individual’s time of loneliness, stress, depression, bereavement or illness.
