CAF has been named as the preferred bidder to supply 63 new trams to Amsterdam.

The order with GVB Activa B.V. includes options for up to 60 additional units and follows an order for 37 vehicles placed with CAF in 1994.

The trams, which are low-floor and bi-directional, will operate on Amsterdam’s 16-line light rail network.
