An LMS Stanier Class 8F 2-8-0 No. 45170, recently arrived from Turkey, completes a three-strong steam engine line up at Shildon national railway museum.

No. 45170 was one of a fleet of Stanier 8Fs that saw service on Turkish railways until the 1980s. A Stirling Single No. 1 has also arrived at Shildon straight from London’s Waterloo Station, where it has been starring in a spectacular theatre adaptation of E Nesbit’s classic ‘The Railway Children’.

The third loco is the LMS Crab No. 13000 which has recently been repainted in its original livery at the Conservation Workshop at Shildon.
