Arriva Trains Wales announce temporary line closures

ATW have reported that due to extensive flooding, lines between Llandudno Junction – Blaenau Festiniog and Wrexham General – Shrewsbury are currently closed until further notice.

Alternative road transport has been arranged and the following train services will be amended from Monday 14th-Friday 18th February.

  • Holyhead to Cardiff services will be diverted via Crewe and Holyhead to Birmingham International services will terminate at Shrewsbury, restarting at Wrexham General.
  • Birmingham International to Chester services will terminate at Shrewsbury and re-start at Wrexham General.
  • Buses will operate between Shrewsbury – Wrexham General connecting with amended train services.

It is estimated that the Llandudno Junction – Blaenau Festiniog service will remain closed for approximately 2 weeks.
