Listen to this article

Ile-de-France transport authority STIF has obtained the declaration of public utility for the proposed T9 tram line in Paris.

The declaration is a necessary step in the project’s development which will allow STIF to potentially begin preliminary works in 2016.

T9, which is set to be completed in 2020, will be financed by the state, the Ile-de-France region, Val-de-Marne and STIF.

The 10-kilometre line will serve the districts of Paris 13, Ivry-sur-Seine, Vitry-sur-Seine, Choisy-le-Roi, Thiais and Orly.

Trams will operate every 4-5 minutes in peak times.
