Listen to this article

Bombardier has bought out Australian signalling company Rail Signalling Services (RSS).

The global rail manufacturer said the acquisition would grow Bombardier’s signalling business in Australia, particularly in Victoria and the Southern Australia regions.

Bombardier has said the current RSS management team will remain in place following the acquisition.

Peter Cedervall, president of Bombardier’s rail control solutions division, said: “Combining the world class skills of both companies will drive further growth of our signalling activities in Australia, which is a home market for Bombardier.”

Stewart Bracken and Martin Scanlon, directors RSS, issued their own statement which read: “RSS is pleased to become an integral part of Bombardier.

Bringing together Bombardier’s global and RSS’ local expertise will provide the Australian market with advanced, innovative and cost effective rail signalling solutions for all levels of complexity.”
