Bombardier signs €44m Austrian tram service contract

Bombardier has signed a service contract worth 44 million euros for 32 Flexity Outlook tramswith Austrian operator Innsbrucker Verkehrsbetriebe & Stubaitalbahn GmbH.

Bombardier will perform the complete service management for the tram fleet until 2028.

Martin Baltes, CEO Innsbrucker Verkehrsbetriebe & Stubaitalbahn GmbH, said: “We were aiming for service and maintenance agreement that was economic and also cost-efficient in the long term. With Bombardier we found partner who supported this goal.”

Michael Fohrer, vice president of services Central Europe, Bombardier Transportation, said: “This innovative maintenance concept will set standards in our industry.

“The close cooperation of IVB as operator and Bombardier Transportation as Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and service partner ensures a successful delivery of a high fleet availability and reliability.”

Christian Diewald, director of sales Austria, Bombardier Transportation, added: “I am especially pleased that our innovative maintenance concept has won the trust of another Austria customer. Together we will make this interesting project a success story for the passengers, for our customer IVB as well as for Bombardier Transportation.”
