A contract has been awarded to a consortium of Vossloh Kiepe and Alstom Transport Germany by Üstra, Hannover’s local transport company.
Initially, the contract includes the supply of 50 LRVs.
For consortium leader Vossloh Kiepe the contract is worth €100 million.
The contract includes the option for another 96 vehicles over the years ahead. The total cost of this would be around €350 million.
It is estimated the first 50 units will be shipped out in 2013 and 2014.
“We are pleased with Vossloh Kiepe and Alstom, we have found partners who are using their expertise to realise our vision of customer and environment friendly vehicles,” said Üstra CEO André Neiss.
