On the day it was officially completed, Network Rail released a video explaining the work that has gone into constructing the Ordsall Chord – the UK’s first network arch bridge.

Earlier today, Britain’s Rail Minister, Paul Maynard, installed the final rail clip to signal the completion of bridge, which will link Manchester’s Piccadilly, Victoria and Oxford Road stations.

The first passenger train will use the Ordsall Chord when it opens in December.
