Travel in confidence with Hull Trains

Listen to this article

Passengers can travel in confidence with Hull Trains as regular timetables return following last week’s disruption.

The operator introduced reduced timetables on days of strike action involving the RMT, other train operators and Network Rail.

However, this did not deter passengers from using Hull Trains services with reservations increasing throughout last week.

There are currently no further planned strikes affecting any of Hull Trains’ services and with the legal requirement of at least 14 days’ notice for a strike day, customers can book in confidence knowing journeys will run as expected for at least the next two weeks.

With so many big events taking place in London in the coming days, including Wimbledon and BST Hyde Park, this will allow passengers to travel without fear of disruption.

David Gibson, Managing Director of Hull Trains, said: “It’s great to be getting back to business as usual here at Hull Trains. It was a challenging week for both staff and customers, but the situation was handled really well on both sides, and we can’t thank customers enough for their patience over the past week.

“We were delighted to have held meaningful conversations with ASLEF and the RMT to call off strike action planned directly against Hull Trains and these talks will continue.  We will do everything we can to keep passengers moving on our services.”

Hull Trains will continue to monitor the situation and remain transparent in any communication to customers. Any customers who had existing tickets for travel on 21st, 23rd or 25th June have the option to get in touch to change their travel date 7 days either side of their original booked date or alternatively you can claim a full refund if they did not travel.
