Severe disruption expected on TfL’s tram network this week due to industrial action

Listen to this article

Tram services are likely to be severely disrupted on Tuesday 28 June and Wednesday 29 June. This is due to expected strike action by tram drivers who are members of the ASLEF union in Tram Operations Ltd.

If the strike goes ahead, services will be severely disrupted on 28 and 29 June. Customers planning to travel on those days should allow more time to complete their journey, check before they travel for the latest information on how trams are running, and use alternative routes where required.

Buses in Croydon, Wimbledon, Beckenham and Addington will be busier than normal as customers seek alternative routes – including local bus services, which will be enhanced.

Customers making local journeys are encouraged to walk and cycle where possible.

Services are expected to run as normal during the evening of 27 June and morning of 30 June.

Trish Ashton, TfL Director of Rail and Sponsored Services, said: “We are disappointed that ASLEF have decided to take industrial action on the tram network and urge them to meet with Tram Operations Ltd, the operator, to try and resolve this matter and avoid disruption to our customers. All customers travelling on the days set to be impacted by strikes are advised to check before they make their journeys.”
