Discover Cambridgeshire by rail with Greater Anglia in December

Greater Anglia is encouraging people to get out and explore Cambridgeshire by train this month with a range of discounts.

To make it easier and even more convenient to travel by train, Greater Anglia has several great value fares available such as discounted Advance tickets, Ranger tickets, GroupSave, Duo and the Family & Friends Railcard.

You can save a small fortune on parking when you travel by train and avoid queues of traffic in the county’s tourist hot spots.

Here are some of the events happening in Cambridgeshire in December are accessible by train:

Christmas in Cambridge

From 14 November to 5 January 2024, Cambridge hosts a Christmas Market! Head to Parker’s Piece and buy gifts for your friends and family, take in the views from the Ferris Wheel or enjoy the ice rink. The market is open from Monday to Sunday, and the entry is free. You could book a visit at the Christmas Tree maze for £5.00 a ticket. The lodge is also available for £80 and includes your choice of beers, ciders, mulled wines or a bottle of prosecco. A Christmas Carol by Chapterhouse Theatre

Join family and friends and be swept back nearly two centuries to the world of Scrooge’s London! On 16 and 17 December 2024, Peterborough Cathedral presents a production of the well-known story ‘A Christmas Carol’. Ticket are prices between £15.00 and £20.00 for adults, and from £10.00 to £15.00 for children. With dazzling musical sequences, and the atmosphere of the cathedral, you do not want to miss it. Cambridge Botanic Garden Lights

From 29 November until 21 December, enjoy the Christmas lights at the Cambridge Botanic Garden. Enjoy the spectacular displays and artistic installations that will highlight some of the garden’s beloved features every weekend from 17:00 until 21.30. Tickets are priced between 13.00 and £20.00.
