Hitachi have training on track with new technology

Hitachi Information Control Systems Europe Ltd (HICSE) are taking their simulator support to the next level with the launch of the NX Panel high fidelity simulation which provides training support for Signallers in a real-time, real-world environment.

For more than 20 years Signallers have developed their skills and the competencies needed to signal trains safely on VDU signalling control systems using Hitachi simulators. Today there are in excess of  200 signalling workstation areas simulated across the length and breadth of the UK rail network.

When presented with the challenge to develop a training simulator that would fully emulate NX panel technology, the HICSE team had the advantage of being able to use a mature and proven platform as the foundation for an exciting new product.

The simulators will be accessible from any location through a web browser rather than installed at the more traditional Network Rail training facilities. Touch screens will allow trainees to practice in a realistic but safe synthetic environment, the simulated panels emulate all the switch pulls, button pushes and associated sounds, and even allow the users to add sticky notes!

Never has training been so realistic, so interactive and so visual and so REAL.
