Commuters told to ‘expect teething problems’ on Jubilee Line upgrade

Isabel Dedring, the new deputy mayor for transport has said the Jubilee Line upgrades will be ‘completed by the end of July‘.

The upgrades to the line have been delayed months and work has disrupted services for more than 100 weekends since 2007.

An extra 27 trains per hour are thought to run when the new signalling system is complete.

London Underground took on the project when they acquired maintenance firm Tube Lines.

A number of deadlines for the completion project have been missed, including one for this Spring.

MPs have criticised the delays and even Boris Johnson has called the works a ‘debacle’.

Ms Dedring, who was made the deputy mayor for transport in April, ‘said the new signalling system will be integrated by the end of next month’.

  1. 27 extra trains an hour? The platform staff at Waterloo in AM Peak will really need to crack their whips for that to happen.
