Better together… collaboration keeps the wheels turning… signalling success

Listen to this article

Collaboration was the front runner for the success of the commissioning of ARS (Automated Route Setting) into the Three Bridges Rail Operations Centre (TBROC) in December 2022.

Design, ergonomics, training, installation, commissioning and in use support post commissioning was a team effort with the engineering team at Hitachi working closely with Siemens and Network Rail – enabling workstations, simulator readiness, signaller training, and all the backroom logistics to ensure successful delivery and completion.

“We are excited to confirm this next step of technology development which will improve train performance by automating route regulation for Signallers, reducing their workload together with reducing possible errors. Tim Walden, Capital Delivery Director at Network Rail said “Our thanks go out to all involved in the successful entry into service which was achieved by the project team (Network Rail, Siemens and Hitachi Information Control Systems) working closely with staff representatives from TRBROC to understand their requirements in relation to the system and training”
