Gerrards Cross station improvements under way

Chiltern Railways has completed the first element of the improvements at Gerrards Cross station this week with the addition of 80 new car parking spaces located opposite the Station approach road.

Further work is currently underway at the station at the moment to improve facilities.

These updates include extending the canopy, a redecoration and refurbishment of the toilets, waiting rooms and shelter on the southbound platform and improvements to accessibility, toilets and the waiting room on the northbound platform.

Commuters will also benefit from better cycling facilities at the station and Chiltern Railways will be refreshing the footbridge.

Chad Collins, General Manager of Chiltern Railways said: “We want our stations to feel welcoming and have been working on delivering a range of improvements at the station. We’re pleased to be delivering this extra capacity in car parking which will help to make travelling by train from Gerrards Cross even easier.”

Chiltern Railways is also currently working to reduce journey times from the station from September and completing a major £800k refresh of their trains used primarily by Gerrards Cross passengers. Gerrards Cross passengers will also benefit from new trains in May.

An official event will be held once the works are completed.
