Gatwick Express, the non-stop rail-air link between central London and Gatwick Airport, has today recognised easyJet, the UK’s largest airline, as the best performing airline for online and in-flight ticket sales.
Chris Burchell, managing director for Southern, said: “Gatwick Express aims to deliver a seamless journey experience for Gatwick Airport passengers from plane to central London. Our great working partnership with easyJet helps to make this a reality for thousands of customers who can get a discount online before they travel or even buy on-board their flight. This award recognises the great work the Gatwick Express and easyJet teams have achieved in the last year and we look forward to developing this further in the future.”
Carolyn McCall, chief executive officer at easyJet said: “We really value working with Gatwick Express, which provides such an easy and convenient way for our customers to get to Gatwick Airport. With a dedicated service, Gatwick Express is perfect for our customers to rely on when they are making their journey to the airport to catch one of our flights.”
easyJet passengers benefit from a 10% discount if they buy online before they fly or enjoy the convenience of being able to buy tickets in-flight, saving a queue at the other end.
easyJet has been presented with an engraved crystal trophy as part of Gatwick Express’ strategy to work closer with airlines and recognise their contributions.
