Designs showing a redeveloped Wolverhampton station have been unveiled at MIPIM Cannes.
Work is due to begin next year on the £120 million Interchange project.
As well as a major upgrade of the station, the project will also extend the Midland Metro. Tram services currently terminate at Wolverhampton St George’s – a 10-minute walk to the station.
The station redevelopment will begin once work is completed on the station’s multi-storey car park.
Once complete, the new Wolverhampton station will include a larger concourse and improved ticketing facilities.
Would be good to extend the Midland Metro to Wolverhampton Railway Station so that it can connect with the main train station as its managed by Network Rail & Virgin Trains West Coast with London Midland operating services in & out of Wolverhampton plus St George’s tram stop is near to Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club “Wolves” Molineux Stadium.
Plus Crosscountry Trains also do stop at Wolverhampton.
