United Wagon Company (UWC) has begun the shipment of 20 goods wagons to sodium sulfate producer Kuchukterminal.
The wagons will be built by UWC subsidiary TikhvinSpetsMash and designed to carry cargos for the pulp and paper, glass, chemical and other industries.
UWC says that running costs through the 32-year life cycle of the cars has been reduced by more than three times by extending the standard interval between scheduled repairs to eight years/800,000km.

Delivery is expected to be complete by the end of 2017.
Kuchukterminal board member Ilya Lang said: “Our young company has broad competence in rail transportation and the use of advanced technologies is fundamental to our development strategy.
“That is why we have given preference to the new generation railcars from UWC railway holding, which will help us to deliver more cargos more reliably and safely.
“This is the first time we have worked with UWC and we hope to expand our cooperation in the future.”
