TX Logistik orders multi-system locos for Germany – Italy corridor

TX Logistik has signed off an order for 40 multi-system Traxx locomotives from Bombardier Transportation.

The first new Traxx MS3 locomotives will be delivered from summer 2019.

Bombardier will provide fleet maintenance under the terms of the contract, which also includes an option for an additional 25 locomotives.

Mirko Pahl, chief executive of TX Logistik, said: “The TRAXX MS3 locomotive will be homologated from the beginning for operation on our main operating lines, namely the Germany – Italy corridor but also Swiss networks.

“This will offer us a high degree of operational flexibility throughout Europe – which is particularly important for us as an Europe-wide company.”
