Excavation of the tunnel for Line 5 (Green Line) of the Riyadh Metro has been completed.
The Green Line is one of three lines being built by the FAST Consortium and one of six lines currently under construction in the Saudi capital.

As well as the announcement about the tunnelling works, Alstom – a member of the consortium – has presented a full-size mock-up of a Green Line trains.
A ceremony was held on June 8 which was attended by the Governor of Riyadh, His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Transport Minister His Excellency Suleiman Al Hamdan.
