Alstom tram-trains are due to begin passenger operation on the T11 Express line between Epinay-sur-Seine and Le Bourget in Paris.

Alstom began delivering the Citadis Dualis vehicles in August last year and has been delivering one unit a month since.

The Citadis Dualis tram-trains were procured under a framework order signed by SNCF in 2007 for 200 units. Two options have been exercised for the Ile-de-France region, including 15 for the T11 Express line.

The T11 Express line will initially connect Epinay-sur-Seine and Le Bourget, but phase two of the project will extend the line to Sartrouville in the west and Noisy-le-Sec in the east.

Commercial service is due to start on July 1. The line has seven stations and includes links to RER B, C and D, Transilien line H and the T8 tramway.

Jean-Baptiste Eyméoud, president of Alstom in France, said: “Alstom’s teams are very proud of the entry into commercial service of this new versatile mode of transport for SNCF and the STIF.

“In particular, we worked on increasing reliability to meet operational constraints in Ile-de-France.”
