The Louis Vuitton Express pulled up at Paris fashion week yesterday, with the French fashion house’s show taking place in a mock-up railway station.

The catwalk show took place in a marquee in a Louvre courtyard made to resemble a station, complete with a huge station clock, tracks and a steam train.

As the clock struck ten, a whistle blew and the train slowly rolled into the station with 24 models on board.

As each model disembarked, they were met by a porter carrying their luggage, and proceeded to walk the catwalk.

Models were dressed in luxurious outfits and Edwardian hats for their journey.

Marc Jacobs, creative director at Louis Vuitton, took to the catwalk at the end of the show to take his bow.

Travel by rail was the starting point for the huge Vuitton empire, part of the LVMH company, with one of its first creations of note being flat suitcases which could be easily stacked in luggage racks.
