Banedanmark and contractor Strukton Rail have completed tracklaying on the new 60km high-speed railway from Copenhagen to Ringsted, via Køge.
The final day of tracklaying on February 8 saw the last couple of kilometres of track installed in Valby, Copenhagen.
The new dual-track line, which is due to open in December 2018, will be Denmark’s first high-speed railway.

Tracklaying began on October 31, 2016. Since then, installation has progressed at a rate of roughly 2 km of track a day.
Jette Aagaard, project director Banedanmark, said once final adjustments had been made to the tracks, work will begin on installing the overhead catenary and signalling infrastructure.
