Stadler to supply new trains for Swiss narrow-gauge railway

Wynental- und Suhrentalbahn AG (WSB), a narrow-gauge railway in Switzerland’s Aargau canton, has ordered five new three-car trains from Stadler.

Operated under the AAR bus + bahn brand, the trains will be 60 metres long – 20 metres longer than those currently owned by the operator – and will have walk-through carriages.

The new metre-gauge units will come into service for the December 2019 timetable change.

The first five vehicles are estimated to cost €50 million, but the order includes an option for 10 more trains.
