Stadler Rail buys Voith Dutch maintenance business

Stadler Rail has acquired a Voith maintenance services subsidiary in the Netherlands.

Following the takeover, Stadler will assume maintenance contracts held by Voith Rail Services with Arriva, Veolia, Connexxion and Regio Utrecht.

The contracts cover the maintenance of 84 Stadler GTW trains and 34 trams built by different manufacturers.

Stadler Netherlands has acquired Voith sites in Venlo, Leeuwarden and Nieuwegein and offices in Twello, and the company’s 100 employees.

Stadler has said the deal will ‘reinforce its service sector’ and allow the company to expand its reach in the Netherlands.
