Speedy Hire, provider of tools, equipment, and plant hire services, has announced the signing of a new agreement with the Central Rail Systems Alliance (CRSA) to provide lighting and fencing solutions as part of their ongoing system and infrastructure improvement projects.
The Central Rail Systems Alliance (CRSA), which includes Network Rail, Balfour Beatty, Atkins Réalis, and TSO. This Alliance focuses on track renewals and infrastructure works across North West and Central and Eastern regions, operating from six UK locations. Speedy Hire will operate on the new CRSA Lighting and Fencing agreement along with two other successful framework providers.
Speedy Hire will play a crucial role in delivering specialised lighting and fencing solutions to support CRSA’s safety and operational requirements. By providing these essential components, Speedy Hire aims to enhance site security, safety, and visibility during night time operations, while minimising environmental impact through the use of energy-efficient lighting technologies.
Daryl Doherty, rail director at Speedy Hire, said: “Our focus has been on developing innovative lighting and fencing solutions that meet the specific safety and operational needs of CRSA. By prioritising sustainable options, we’re helping to reduce the environmental impact of rail projects, directly supporting our ‘Decade to Deliver’ strategy.”
David Thomas, senior procurement manager at Balfour Beatty, highlighted the importance of Speedy Hire’s role.
“Lighting and fencing form a critical component in helping CRSA successfully deliver a substantive and challenging forward work plan safely and efficiently,” he said. “During a robust tender exercise, Speedy was successful in clearly demonstrating their competence in delivering this work to CRSA using market-leading, sustainable equipment, while continually striving to introduce and roll out the latest innovations. This agreement helps further cement our existing relationship with a trusted CRSA supply chain partner.”
This partnership with CRSA is a strong endorsement of Speedy Hire’s sustainability credentials, which are a key component of their ‘Decade to Deliver’ strategy. The strategy aims to make the hire process and services as green as possible, ensuring that not only the hire process itself but also the services, solutions, and equipment that make hiring possible, are all as sustainable as possible.
