SNCF invests in new tram-trains for French region

Listen to this article

SNCF has exercised an option for 15 more tram-train vehicles for the Ile-de-France region.

The €75 million order is an extension of a framework order agreed between SNCF and Alstom in 2007 for 200 vehicles.

Alstom will deliver the new Citadis Dualis vehicles from October 2017 and start bringing them into service in 2019 between Livry-Gargan and Clichy Montfermeil.

Citadis Dualis tram-trains already operate in the Rhône-Alpes region to the west of Lyon and Pays-de-la-Loire.

Alstom’s factory in Valenciennes, where this latest order will be delivered, is currently building another 15 tram-trains for the Ile de France region.
