Signalling Solutions wins £34.8m Network Rail contracts

Network Rail has awarded three signalling contracts worth £34.8 million to Signalling Solutions (SSL).

The Alstom/Balfour Beatty joint venture will carry out signalling renewal works across the UK.

Projects include a £22 million signalling renewal works on the Great Western Main Line. SSL will deliver the design and early works for the renewed system in preparation for electrification works, which are planned to take place between 2013 and 2015.

SSL will also provide £750,000 early design works for the large-scale renewal of the signalling system controlling lines between Scunthorpe-Cleethorpes, North Lincolnshire.

Finally, SSL has been awarded a £12 million contract to resignal an 18-mile stretch of line between Arundel and Horsham.

SSL will deliver the design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of the renewed system, with the main commissioning scheduled for October 2013.
