Russian Railways subsidiary RZD International has completed the reconstruction of a 35km stretch of track on the Resnik to Vreoci railway, in Serbia.
As a result of replacing rails, sleepers and signalling, train speeds on this section have been increased from 50km/h to 90km/h.
The Bela Reka tunnel on the line has been completely reconstructed and track has been laid inside it using sub-ballast mat technology – a first for Serbian railways.
