A freight service from Russia to Vietnam has been successfully tested.

Organised by RZD Logistics in partnership with Ratraco, a shipment containing shampoos, soap, shower gels, creams and masks for face and hair arrived in Vietnam’s capital city Hanoi on January 23 after setting off from Freight Village Vorsino, in the Kaluga region, Russia, 20 days earlier.

RZD Logistics said that the shipment – which would have taken twice as much time to arrive by sea – is part of an ongoing cooperation between the two country’s national railways and marks the launch of the Vietnam-Russia-Vietnam transport corridor.

RZD Logistics was responsible for the shipment across Russian territory, Far East Land Bridge oversaw the service in China and Ratraco across Vietnam.

RZD Logistics’ CEO Viacheslav Valentik said: “We have covered the complete process from the initial idea to its implementation in a short time thanks to the efforts of our high-class specialists, who invested much of their time and effort into this project, even during New Year holidays.

“We are delighted to make our contribution to the development of trade relations between Russia and Vietnam, especially in such an important sphere as the export of Russian goods with high added value.”
