Brazil’s acting president, Michel Temer, has attended the opening of Rio de Janeiro’s Line 4 metro between Barra da Tijuca and Ipanema.

The line, which is expected to carry 300,000 people every day, will transport visitors to the Olympic Games, with the Jardim Oceânico station serving the Olympic Park. Line 4 includes six new stations altogether.

Around 340 companies have been involved in the delivery of the R $9.7 billion project. The majority of the funding has come from the state government.
