Region 2N trains enter service on Transilien network

Region 2N EMUs built by Bombardier have entered passenger service on line R of SNCF’s Transilien network in the ÃŽle-de-France region.

Built in Crespin, the new double-deck trains will initially operate between Melun and Montereau.

Ile de France Mobilities has funded the procurement of 42 Region 2N units, costing €589 million.

The region is investing €10 billion in its fleet, with more than 700 new or refurbished trains expected on the network by the end of 2021.
