Security staff on the Dutch rail network are to trial body cams as operator NS looks to tackle anti-social and aggressive behaviour.
The cameras can be switched on by employees when they feel threatened and live footage is then broadcast to a central control centre, which can take appropriate action.
NS said: “The trial will show whether body cams have a de-escalating effect in difficult situations and that the cameras provide an extra sense of security to our colleagues.”
The trial is being carried out over the next six months and comes in response to a number of violent incidents against rail staff.
