NS preparing high-frequency intercity service for 2017

Listen to this article

NS has unveiled plans to run a high-frequency intercity rail service between Amsterdam and Eindhoven from December 2017.

Services will increase from every 15 minutes to every 10 minutes on the route from the end of next year under the plans, which have been made possible through the completion of infrastructure works around Utrecht and Den Bosch.

In addition, NS will increase the frequency of peak-time Sprinter services between Utrecht and Houten Castellum to six trains an hour from 2018.

From Eindhoven, two services an hour will continue south to Maastricht, Heerlen and Venlo, and north to Den Helder, Alkmaar and Enkhuizen.
