Thousands of passengers in Nottinghamshire are benefitting from significantly improved real-time information about their East Midlands Trains’ service, following the installation of new Customer Information Screens (CIS) at four of the region’s stations.
Passengers using Nottingham, Hucknall, Mansfield and Newark Castle stations are amongst the first to gain from the £2.2 million joint investment programme delivered by East Midlands Trains and Network Rail.
The investment programme will also see new information screens installed at Bingham, Sutton Parkway, Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Newstead and Mansfield Woodhouse later in the summer.
The new customer information screens are linked through to East Midlands Trains’ Control Centre in Derby, which means the information is constantly being updated to ensure passengers get an accurate picture of their train’s departure.

“We know how important it is for rail travellers to have easy access to fast and accurate information about their train service.
“The installation of these new screens, which use the latest digital technology, will make a big difference to our passengers.
“As the CIS screens are linked through to our control centre, our team will be able to keep them constantly updated with the latest information, meaning that passengers can easily keep a check of their train’s departure time.

“This investment with East Midlands Trains will allow us to keep passengers better informed, allowing them to plan their journey more accurately.”
The CIS investment programme is part of a £10 million investment by East Midlands Trains to deliver station improvements for passengers.
