Network Rail’s Robin Gisby to speak at Infrarail 2012

Network Rail’s Director, Network Operations, Robin Gisby is to deliver a keynote speech during Infrarail 2012.

His presentation will take place on 2 May as part of the seminar programme being staged during the three-day exhibition of rail infrastructure products and services at the UK’s National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham from 1 to 3 May.

Taking place in the main exhibition hall and open to all, the seminar programme is being arranged by Infrarail media partner ‘the rail engineer‘ magazine.

It will also include a keynote speech by Minister of State for Transport the Rt Hon Theresa Villiers MP on the opening day of the show, 1 May.

The drop-in seminar programme runs for all three days of Infrarail and will additionally provide insights into technological developments in the industry.

Infrarail 2012 is the industry’s showcase for the complete range of railway infrastructure equipment, products and services, covering track, civil engineering, signalling and communications, electrification, stations, depots and all other fixed assets.

Features of the exhibition will include The Yard, a display area for plant and machinery used for rail construction and maintenance, and the On Track Display of smaller items of track plant, tools and equipment.

Infrarail 2012 is supported strongly by Network Rail and is also endorsed by the Railway Industry Association, the Rail Alliance, the Rail Plant Association, the Institution of Railway Signal Engineers and the Permanent Way Institution.

Next year’s exhibition will be ninth in this successful series of Mack Brooks events for the rail infrastructure sector in the UK.

The last show in 2010 saw a 5% increase in visitor numbers to more than 4,500 and rise of 17% in the number of exhibitors to 239.

The company also organises Railtex, the industry-wide exhibition that alternates with Infrarail.
