Network Rail has announced the appointment of a new human resources director, Richard Doyle, formerly HR director of Kraft/Cadbury.

His appointment follows the announcement of current HR director Peter Bennett’s retirement.

Mr Doyle spent over 20 years with Cadbury plc (now Kraft Foods) holding a number of executive HR roles within Cadbury’s divisions, before becoming the HR director for UK and Ireland in 2007.

During his time with Cadbury Mr Doyle led a number of high profile organisational changes, including the Kraft acquisition and integration in 2010/11.

He also led Cadbury’s programme to sponsor the 2012 Olympics.

David Higgins, chief executive, said:

“Richard will be a great addition to Network Rail and brings with him organisational change experience that will be invaluable as the company continues its transformation programme.”

Mr Doyle will join the company on 28th November.

Commenting on Mr Bennett’s retirement, David Higgins said:

“Peter joined as director of HR during the creation of Network Rail. He’s been with the company for over eight years and during that time the company has achieved substantial improvements in safety, performance and cost reduction.

“I want to thank Peter for his contribution to these results.”
