The move will create a combined workforce of 200 and an annual turnover in excess of £25 million.

Established in 1938, Merson is one of the UK’s leading signage contractors.

The company designs, manufactures and installs sign systems for Transport for London, South East Trains, East Midlands Trains, South West Trains and Southern.

Merson have recently delivered signage projects at King’s Cross and Blackfriars stations.

Roddy Angus, managing director of Merson Group, said: “Today’s (January 22) announcement is a very exciting step in the growth of Merson Group.

“CGL Systems is a great strategic fit for our organisation. It allows us to enhance our service offering, greatly increase our capacity for further international growth and benefit from synergies in many other areas.

“The investment from HSBC, Scottish Enterprise and Maven Capital Partners has allowed us to realise our growth potential and we’re grateful to all involved, including our legal advisors Brodies who were heavily involved in the process.”
