Syndicat des Transports de l’Agglomération Lyonnaise (SYTRAL) has exercised an option for seven new trams for the Lyon tramway.

The €20 million deal builds on an order placed in 2011 and takes the city’s fleet of Citadis trams to 92.

The new low-floor trams will be the same as those currently operating on line T3. Assembly of the 43-metre long units will be divided between sites in  La Rochelle, Le Creusot, Villeurbanne and Saint-Ouen.
