Lithuanian Railways orders more double-deck Škoda EMUs

Lithuanian Railways has placed an order for three three-car double-deck electric multiple units (EMUs) from Škoda Vagonka.

The €27.2 million order will add to the 10 EJ575 units already in operation.

In a statement, Škoda Vagonka said it expects to deliver the new trains within 19-36 months from contract signing.

Škoda Vagonka’s Ostrava works are currently developing and manufacturing a fleet of double-deck vehicles for Deutsche Bahn, which are due to go into service by the end of 2016.
