The Railway Industry Association (RIA) is announcing leadership changes to its RIA Exports Leadership Group (RELG).

Joy Grover, associate director, PriestmanGoode, moves from Vice Chair to Chair, and Andrea Green, UK&I business development director, Alstom Transport UK, becomes the new Vice-Chair.

RIA would like to thank previous Chair, Andrew Went, director, Arup for his support and guidance as he moves from his current role at Arup to a position at East West Rail.

With senior figures from within the RIA membership from UK-based rail suppliers who export goods and services around the world, the RELG members shares their experiences and work with the RIA Exports and Trade Policy teams, to help engage with our partners and offer export best practice, direction, advice and support.

Neil Walker, RIA’s exports director, said: “We would like to thank Andrew Went for all his excellent support during his time as chair and wish him well in his new role whilst equally delighted to congratulate Joy Grover on becoming the new RELG Chair and Andrea Green on her appointment as Vice Chair.

“It is particularly important currently that we bring rail suppliers together to promote exports, and we look forward to working with the RELG, RIA members and partners in Government, industry and overseas, to help UK companies make the most of trade opportunities, be more resilient and to build on UK rail exports worldwide.”

Joy Grover said: “Working at PriestmanGoode, a multi-disciplinary design transport SME, I’ve had the benefit of seeing what is possible though exporting across the globe. As Chair of the RIA RELG, I’m keen to support and encourage other UK rail businesses to look at the opportunities that export provides them to grow commercially and build a healthy supply chain for rail from the UK.

“I’ve had an excellent induction from our last Chair, Andrew Went and really look forward to working with Andrea Green and our colleagues on the RELG committee to continue to bring value into UK Rail exports.”

Andrea Green commented: “UK railway engineering expertise is in demand worldwide, with the RELG leading efforts to grow exports. I am delighted to be working with Joy, the RIA team and RELG members, to create high quality, long term growth for UK business and the people and communities of which they are such an important part.”
