Bavarian rail operator Länderbahn has unveiled the first of its new Alstom Coradia Lint DMUs.
During a special event at Alstom’s site in Salzgitter, Länderbahn invited guests to see the first of 12 regional trains being built for the Oberpfalzbahn network.
In February, Alstom and Länderbahn received approval from Germany’s Federal Railway Authority for the vehicles to operate passenger rail services in the country. The trains will also be used to operate cross-border services into the Czech Republic.
The first two trains are now being used for driver training.
