Trenitalia has formed a partnership with energy provider Enel Energia which aims to improve the efficiency of the operator’s high-speed rail depot in Naples.

Enel Energia will monitor the site’s energy use and come up with a strategy for reducing consumption and costs.

The Naples depot maintains Italy’s fleet of high-speed Frecciarossa trains.

Under the terms of the agreement, Enel Energia will also assess the potential for installing solar panels on site.
