Listen to this article

Hyundai Rotem has announced it has been awarded a $316 million order for 300 automated metro cars for Istanbul’s urban rail network.

The trains will be manufactured in Turkey and deliveries will be completed by 2021.

In January, Hyundai Rotem won a KRW 103.8 billion (€79 million) order to supply 17 driverless metro trains to Istanbul Metro.

The new four-car trains, which will be delivered from the second half of 2017, will operate on line M2 which connects Yenikapı and Hacıosman.
