Indian Railways appoints new board members

Indian Railways has appointed new members to its Board following Dinesh Trivedi being appointed the new Indian Railways Minister in May.

Indian Railways has appointed Kul Bhushan, the General Manager of the Central & Western Railway, as Member Electrical to the Railway Board.

Kul Bhushan has experience of projects such as the Kurla – Thane line and installation of Train Management Systems on the CSTM – Kalyan section.

He has also dealt with the World Bank, Asian Development Bank and other bilateral funding agencies for sanction and funding of new railway projects.

He joined Indian Railways in February 1976 and has held many positions including Director, Planning (Special) and Chief Electrical Service Engineer.

Another new Railway Board appointee is Arvind Kumar Vohra, who will continue to hold the post of General Manager, East Coast Railway in addition to his present post until further orders.

An officer of the 1973 batch of Indian Railway service of Electrical Engineers (IRSEE) joined Railway in 1974 after obtaining degree in B.Sc Engineering (Hons) from Punjab University, Chandigarh.

He is an expert in the field of Suburban Transportation System with specific reference to operation maintenance and power supply arrangements for electrical multiple units.

Arvind has extensive knowledge in manufacturing of electrical locomotives, and is considered an expert in maintenance and operation of electric locomotives.

Also, R.C. Agarwal, the General Manager of the North Western Railway, has taken over the role of General Manager of Western Railway.
