A small group of politicians and journalists have been given a first look at Stockholm’s City Line ahead of its completion later this year.
Sweden’s Minister of Infrastructure, Anna Johansson, was among the invited officials on the maiden voyage from Tomteboda to Stockholm South.
Construction of the 6-kilometre City Line tunnel is due to be completed this summer before going into service in July 2017.
The new double-track tunnel will divert Stockholm commuter traffic off the main line, freeing up capacity around Stockholm Central station.
