Former Go-Ahead boss Keith Ludeman has been appointed by Network Rail’s new consultancy arm to promote the British rail industry around the world.

Ludeman, 62, has joined Network Rail Consulting as a non-executive director, having retired from his role as group chief executive of transport provider Go-Ahead in 2011.

During the international launch of Network Rail Consulting at InnoTrans 2012, managing director Nigel Ash said the consultancy would be looking to take on contracts in North America, Central and Eastern Europe and India – countries with ageing networks and a rising demand for extra capacity.

His addition to the board of Network Rail Consulting will provide first-hand, commercial expertise and corporate oversight as we look to demonstrate the best of British expertise around the world.

Services being offered by Network Rail Consulting include an advisory role for policy development, procurement and re-structuring, strategic planning, asset management, operations maintenance and project management service for capital projects.

Simon Kirby, chairman of Network Rail Consulting, said: “Keith Ludeman brings with him decades of experience of leadership in the transport industry, both in Britain and overseas. His addition to the board of Network Rail Consulting will provide first-hand, commercial expertise and corporate oversight as we look to demonstrate the best of British expertise around the world.”

Mr Ludeman joins chairman Simon Kirby and managing director Nigel Ash on the board of directors of Network Rail Consulting, along with Network Rail‘s group finance director Patrick Butcher.
