Minister for Transport Gladys Berejiklian has announced the Department of Transport had selected the successful consortium to deliver a range of design works for the North West Rail Link.
AECOM Australia Pty Ltd has been selected to provide engineering, rail systems and architectural services for the North West Rail Link.
The successful consortium will be led by AECOM and supported by:
- Cox Architects Pty Ltd
- Grimshaw Architects
- Parsons Brinckerhoff Australia Pty Ltd
AECOM will provide a team of more than 100 civil engineers, architects and transport experts to flesh out and test the design options for the North West Rail Link.
“This is good news and shows the O’Farrell Government is getting on with the job of fast tracking the North West Rail Link,” Ms Berejiklian said.
“The work to be done will be used to provide the community with a very clear view of the project including the alignment and the stations,” she said.
The group will work closely with the North West Rail Link project team to advance the previous concept designs for the project.
“The consortium will be undertaking development design studies around alignment options, rail systems, tunneling design, station locations and infrastructure planning, programming and risk assessments,” Ms Berejiklian said.
“Today marks a milestone that shows the O’Farrell Government is committed to building this project – something Labor promised time and time again to do but failed miserably to achieve,” she said.
AECOM and its team have previously worked on the South West Rail Link, Cross River Rail in Brisbane, Melbourne Metro, Crossrail in London as well as major transport infrastructure in Taiwan, Singapore and Dubai.
