East Midlands Trains has installed 30 new collection-only ticket machines at eight of the major stations on its network.

The new style ‘ticket on departure’ machines are designed to ‘complement the full service ticket machines’ already in place at East Midlands Trains’ stations.

They will provide a quick and easy way for passengers to book their tickets in advance and then collect them at the station using the credit or debit card they used for their booking.

Jayne Moyses, Sales & Customer Relationship Manager for East Midlands Trains, said:

“We have already invested heavily to install additional ticket machines at our key stations.

“However, with more and more people now choosing to buy their tickets through our website, we wanted to provide even easier access to passengers simply wanting to collect their pre-booked tickets and who don’t necessarily need to use one of our full service ticket machines.

“Passengers booking online at www.eastmidlandstrains.co.uk can already get access to the cheapest fares through our Best Fare Finder, and our investment in these new ticket machines will provide greater opportunity for them to be collected easily and quickly at the station.”

New machines have now been installed at Sheffield (x 6), Chesterfield (x 2), Nottingham (x 6), Derby (x 4), Loughborough (x 2) and Leicester and Lincoln stations will have new machines installed by the end of November.

Plans are also underway to install 4 of these new machines at London St Pancras.
